Jesus’ mission on earth was to bring all people to God, to reconcile us to God and to each other, and he left that mission in our hands. The work of reconciliation is our work now, and we do it with the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. 

Each of us in our baptism receives Baptismal Authority.  We are equally children of God, marked as Christ’s own forever.  None of us has greater access to him than any other, despite our roles in worship or in leadership in our congregation.  Baptismal Authority gives all of us the right and the responsibility to proclaim the love of God in whatever way we can.

We grow in our faith by getting involved so that we use our hands, our hearts, and our voices to help in this world.  When we perform good works out of our Baptismal Authority, the rewards to us and to others are many and great.
