SAINT BARTHOLOMEW:
This apostle is believed to have been a missionary in India and Armenia.
He is represented by three fishing knives because he was flayed alive with
his own knife.
Donated by Don, Marcia, Donnie and Jennifer Day to the glory of God.
SAINT DAVID:
The red and white quadrants on this shield of the patron saint of Wales
represent the Union Jack. The dove is a symbol for the Holy Spirit and refers
to the legend of a dove perching on David's shoulder so that his voice might
be heard at a synod of Welsh bishops. The crozier is a symbol for a bishop
and the daffodils represent Wales.

SAINT JAMES THE LESS:
This apostle is represented by a saw, since it is said that his body was
sawed apart following a horrible martyrdom..

IRIS:
Frequently used instead of the lily in pictures of the Virgin Mary. Also
known as the "sword lily".
