Begin in August for Bishop's Visitation on November 9, 2008. Speak to the Rector if you're interested in being a part of this preparation.
Pancake Breakfast:
The Youth Group will have a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, August 24th to coordinate with the beginning of the Good Shepherd Sunday School.
Pancakes will be served between services, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Guest Speaker:
The Rev. Allen James, on Sunday, September 14th will preach and celebrate at both services of Holy Eucharist.
Alan has asked that there be a time for discussion with him between services, from 9:30 till 10:15 a.m. This is an opportunity for members of the parish to make connections with one of the Bishop’s assistants and to ask questions about what’s going on across the Diocese of Ohio.
Alan will also be able to answer some of your questions about the transition process as All Saints prepares to call a new rector.
So plan to attend the 9:30 a.m. discussion as well as your usual Eucharist on Sunday, Sept 14th.
United Thank Offering:
The United Thank Offering is a way of giving daily thanks to God.
The discipline starts in the home by saying a prayer of thanksgiving as you drop coins into a special container, known as the Blue Box. This is one way an individual can express thanks to God for all of the blessings in his/her life. “We all have many things to be thankful for,” says Susan Baird, diocesan UTO chair. “This tangible expression of our thanks helps people in need across the world, as the monetary gifts are used for grants for ministry.
Be aware that every coin that is given is used to support mission and ministry.” UTO is an offering of the whole church, for the mission of the whole church.
Offering envelopes will be available on Sunday September 21st & 28th.
